Sustainable swaps to make for Plastic Free July

It is estimated by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Single-use plastic is a huge problem because it can only be used once, and once discarded there are no natural ways for single use plastic to decompose. This means that it can last for hundreds of years.
We're sharing our top five sustainable swaps, to help you lessen your plastic carbon foot print, shake up the throwaway culture that we live, and also save you money in the long term.
1. Ditch the disposable bottles
This is possibly the easiest and most cost effective swap you can make. By having a reusable bottle, you are not only saving yourself money, you are also saving single-use plastic bottles ending up in landfill.
Our favourite reusable bottle is from Ocean Bottle. When you buy an Ocean Bottle, you fund 1000 ocean bound plastic bottles being collected before they end up in the ocean. Ocean Bottles can hold cold or hot drinks, perfect for on the go and refill through out the day.
2. Switch to a plastic free deodorant
Switching to a plastic free deodorant can make a huge impact on your plastic consumption. We love Wild deodorant as you have a one off purchase of your aluminum deodorant case, then you purchase your compostable deodorant refills. No waste involved, natural ingredients and delivered straight to your door - what's not to love?!
3. Go plastic free with your laundry
Another convenient plastic free swap is with Smol. Smol have created eco-effective laundry capsules that can be delivered straight to your door. All the packaging is recyclable and plastic free, since Smol launched they have saved 842 tonnes of plastic.
4. Switch up your beauty routine
With so many alternatives on the market nowadays, it has never been easier to find single-use plastic free beauty products. Gruum have got you covered, from shampoo bars to facial cleansers, you can switch out your beauty favourites for an eco-friendly alternative with Gruum.
