Using and caring for your reusable pads

Simply give them a rinse in cold water after use. Cold water is best for removing blood and stopping it staining.

Store them in your laundry basket until ready to wash. Wash within 48 hours, and use non-bio laundry powder for best results.

Yes, just treat them like you would your underwear.

White with white and colours with colours, just remember the no fabric softener or harsh stain remover rule.

You can on a cool setting, but we wouldn't recommend tumble drying every time if you can help it as it can damage the waterproof layer over time. They’re fast drying so air drying doesn't take long.

We recommend changing your pad every 4-6 hours, but feel free to wear them as long as you like including ovenight. Only you know your flow.

If you are new to reusables you might want to change it more regularly. Or if you have a very heavy flow and find you are flooding your pads quickly you may want to move up to the next absorbency level.

No. Smell usually comes from a build-up of bacteria.

Make sure you rinse your pads as soon as you can after use.

In testing, NORA pads achieved 95% odour reduction and 99% reduction in bacterial growth.

Our pads work with most underwear types. But, just like disposables, they fit better with some styles than others.

We recommend using your reusables with a pair of classic briefs instead of a thong or other underwear with a small gusset.

planet positive
nora = less raw materials, less waste

Reusables are better for the planet, it’s a fact.

It is also a fact throwaway culture leads to overconsumption and waste, and as concern grows for the future of our planet, young people especially are rejecting this and moving toward ways they can make a positive impact.

NORA is proud to create future proof period wear to help drive this planet positive movement.

reusables are better for your health & save you money

Many disposable products contain known carcinogens, allergens, irritants
and endocrine-disrupting chemicals. NORA products are free from all of those

A reusable period is a positive period.

By switching to reusable period products 1 person could save 94% of their lifetime spend on disposables.

the nora story

Meet our founder Fiona and her daughter Maia; the inspiration behind the brand. In 2000, concerned with toxins, and the waste caused by disposable nappies she set up award winning reusable nappy brand TotsBots. In 2016 and with the same motivations, she created reusable period brand NORA.

Leading the way in reusables since 2000.

NORA pads are made in Glasgow.

Recycled plastic from post-consumer waste and organic cotton in our pants.

NORA Period Pads
  • Clever binding construction that guards against leaks
  • Poppered wings for secure fit
  • Slimline & contoured to fit your body
  • Waterproof outer made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles
  • Elastic to secure pad when folded

It's all in the clever tech

NORA period pants have a hidden absorbent layer to soak away the blood. The stay dry layer keeps it locked away in the corelayer to keep you feeling dry all day or night.

Our wearer trial feedback was unanimous with all the testers saying they were happy to wear overnight and for long periods of time, even during their heaviest flow.
