You may have heard of period pants, the latest game changer in the period wear world. We created our period pants because we believe everyone who has a period deserves their period products to be comfortable, leak-free and planet friendly.
We’re busting the myths around period pants today, answering those questions that you may feel uncomfortable asking – NORA is safe space where those awkward questions are welcomed!

Period pants smell
Truth
No they don’t smell, as long as you wash and care for them correctly they do not retain any odour nor do they smell whilst wearing them on your period. They work the exact same way as a disposable pad does therefore you shouldn’t worry that any smells would be there by switching to a reusable alternative!

It feels like you're wearing a nappy
Truth
NORA period pants have been created to feel exactly like your normal underwear, with three styles and absorbencies to choose from. The absorbent area of our period pants is streamlined and not bulky, so no nappy feeling whatsoever!

They will leak onto your clothes
Truth
Thanks to the super absorbent core layer in our period pants, all period blood gets absorbed into the gusset of the pants and stays there. Our heavy absorbency holds the equivalent to 10 super tampons worth of blood, so whatever your flow, from light to heavy, we’ve got you covered.
Myth
You have to hand wash them
Truth
Whilst you absolutely can hand wash them, we recommend just giving them a quick rinse in cold water after use, store them in our waterproof reusable bag, then wash them at 30 degrees with non-bio powder and no fabric softener. You do not need to wash them in a separate cycle to your other washing, just whack them in your normal wash load!
Myth
They don’t work if you have heavy periods
Truth
As mentioned, our Heavy style holds up the equivalent of 10 super tampons worth of blood, if you do have a particularly heavy flow, you can also wear our heavy or maxi pad in conjunction with your period pants for added protection.
